"If Sherlock fought demons..."

Films: Spectre (1977)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: We could have had it all. An ever-going tale of a detective trailing the root of all evil. But alas, it was just not meant to be.

History: Asmodeus has been around for centuries, being the devil and all that. But for today, he's been organizing his own little cult somewhere under the house of the Cyon family. Under the guise of said family’s patriarch, he's had it good spreading deceit and putting curses on all his enemies. But now occultist detective William Sebastian is on the case, and he has a score to settle with the archdemon.

Notable Kills: Nothing specific.

Final Fate: Sebastian destroys a special seal and shoots Asmodeus all at once, sending the demon back to Hell and ending the Cyon strife. But Asmodeus and Sebastian's conflict has only begun, as the mark of the demon follows him all the way home...

Powers/Abilities: Asmodeus' curse of pain comes in the form of a branded 'A'. His powers also seem rather limitless and omnipotent.

Weakness: Holy artifacts can weaken him enough for conventional weapons to work.

Scariness Factor: 3-Cults worshipping the devil are never fun, especially if they're being managed by the big downstairs guy himself. Design-wise, he's not shabby creatively speaking, being a buff lizard man. We just wish the effects budget would increase.

Trivia: -This film was meant to be the T.V. pilot for a series, but like many other occultist pilots at the time, it was rejected.

-After its rejection, the film was re-released in the UK as an extended cut featuring more...sensitive content (less clothing in some scenes, basically).
